The perfect Country and Western song? Perhaps not, but it's pretty darn close!
Here's another winner from that session with The Millbillys! I wrote this some years back, when, while ruminating over that phrase "She drives me to drink", I added the follow up, "but she won't drive me home!" And thus, a song was born! At the time, a songwriter friend told me,"Nobody records songs like that anymore." What choice did I have but to record it myself?
This tune is always a big hit at Millbillys shows, and with the addition of the Piano and Pedal Steel, it just turned into a perfect piece of Country and Western music - pure Honkytonk bliss!
